The majority of the devices of these seals/<engraved upon the matrixes (probably of wood) are in content
testimonials certifying the king’s piuossic services on behalf
of the gods during his life on earth, and their further function
was to enlist the protection of the gods for his tomb. In this
respect, Professor Breasted also points out, the seals are in/<d>ent-
ical in function with the great Papyrus Harris, which is a vast
testimonial of the same kind. Moreover, these seals have a
similarity to the Pyramid texts, with which they should be compared.
