The head borders of these ornamental side straps are of red, blue and
green faience and gold.
The materials and colours of the inlay upon the plaques of these
side straps are: <carneleansic (quartz), lapis lazuli and turquoise coloured glass
with bosses of gold - the plaques being of gold cloisonné type.>
REMARKS:
On the back of the cartouches, uraei, and Rîshi and drop-
pendant plaques of the first section of the ornamental side straps
are engraved hieroglyphic texts (see note attached), the reading of
which is not consecutive. In some cases cartouches have been
deliberately cut out, plain gold inserted in their place, but in one
instance the original cartouche [ 𓂀 ] which is that of Smenkh-
ka-Ra remains. Thus, leading to the assumption that these particular
plaques were the residue from the burial of that King utilized for
