bus to Valley, & M^r Carter took us into

the Tomb to see the Coffin lying in the

Sarcophagus. Very impressive.

M^rs Armstrong after lunch. M^r & M^rs

Dick to tea. Walk with M^rs L. after &

to M^rs Davies. H & M^r L. back at 4.30.

H. to Valley in morning. Walk with him

after tea. Miss Moss to dinner.

Bitterly cold wind & dust.

3 Feb.

Tues.

H & I to Luxor. Miss W. & F. in bus to

river. To walking-stick man. Met

the Brett Youngs & photographed them.

Hampden’s, Gaddis etc. Lunched with

M^rs Armstrong. Talking to M^rs Fowler

& M^rs Mond who gave me lots of

flowers & vegetables. M^rs Lythgoe & M^rs

W. came over after lunch & we all went

back together, also M^r Peek at 4.30.

Also M^rs/<iss> Dalton (fiancée of M^rs W’s

brother) came for the night. Walk

after tea with M^rs L. The Ws & Miss D. to

Medinet Habu after dinner by moonlight.
