In bad condition much of the leather having
perished. treated & plated[?] over to a strongsolution of celluloid/<Practically only the soles were remained and
a few pieces of the straps. x[?] in many of contents./<The straps had been leather on a base of s Sole = papyrus.

Various objects including large blue beads, gold
sequins and amber/<resin> beads were adhering firmly
to the black pitch-like sole. The only solvent
that was effective in loosening these adhering
objects was water.
The few remains of the <sep> strap etc were treated
with a solution of Canada balsam in xylol.
