               Punica Granatum L. <[>Punicaceae<]>; Pomegranate. 

 

The leaves of this species are from wreaths, having been used alone  

in one wreath, and with willow-leaves in another. 

          The pomegranate is cultivated throughout the Mediterran- 

ean region, and is often subspontaneous (Herb. Kew.). It was,  

and still is, very common throughout Egypt (Carter).
