Leonard A. Boodle

British botanist. He was born in London, 5 May 1865, and educated at King's College School, London. He graduated as an associate of the Royal College of Science, where he was a keen demonstrator in botany for seven years. In 1904 he was appointed assistant to Dukenfield H. Scott (1854–1934) at the Jodrell Laboratory, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London, and from 1909 until his retirement in 1930 was Assistant Keeper of the Jodrell Laboratory.
On the recommendation of Sir Arthur W. Hill (1875–1941) director of the Royal Botanic Gardens (1922–1941), he was engaged by Howard Carter (1874–1939) to identify botanical finds from the tomb of Tutankhamun.
He died in Devon, 22 August 1941.
