                  Grewia betulaefolia Juss. <[>Tiliaceae<]>x[?]<.>

 

          Some samples consist almost entirely of the fruits 

and the stones of the fruits of this species, which is 

found in Arabia, South Persia, Abyssinia, Sudan and Uganda 

(Herb. Kew).

          The fruits of many species of the genus Grewia are 

stated to be edible (Watt), while medicinal properties are 

attributed to the fruits of some species (Drag.).

          The specimens were identified by the L/<l>ate Dr. O.
Stapf, F.R.S./<referred to the staff of the Kew Herbarium and were identified as above.
