8th Season (1929–1930)
No excavation work took place during this season, as most of the time was spent in negotiations with the Egyptian Government regarding a favourable settlement for the Carnarvon Estate and heirs for work already rendered, as well as terms for completing the remaining work on behalf of the Government. Conditions of concession were agreed upon in the spring of 1930. Not until late September 1930 did the Egyptian Government pay the Carnarvon heirs £E35,971, covering expenses from the discovery to April 1929. The issue of compensation for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York remained unresolved.
Records produced during this season: Object cards, Miscellaneous, Correspondence, Scientific notes, maps, plans, sketches and drawings, Conservation notes, Images, Journals and diaries.
