Unfortunately the several seals, without any preparation, were hurriedly
dabbed on the plaster while it was too wet; with the result the
impressions of their devices are so indistinct that, even with the
many examples, it is impossible to be quite certain of the correct
rendering readings or details. However, with the aid of Dr Alan
Gardiner and Professor Breasted, photographs, and careful collaboration
xxx[?] of the many specimens, fairly certain rendering/<readings> (pl. ...)
have been obtained.
