Dear Dr. Carter,
In pursuing my enquiries as to the red tone of
the gold on the discs from the covering of Tut-ankh-Amen,
the Deputy Master of the Melbourne Mint has given me the
information appended herewith – as a result of some of
his experiments.
This is a point that indicates the reason of
the red tint on the discs – it also suggests that the red
is inherent and comes to the surface.
Will you accept this, my first contribution,
with my compliments.
I hope to send further information later.
Kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
James R. Ogden
JRO/SER.
