Walter Hauser

American archaeologist and architect. He was born in Middlefield, Massachusetts, 22 May 1893, son of Henry Lewis H. and Ann Elizabeth Smart. He trained as an architect at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and then joined the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Egyptian Expedition, mainly working at Deir el-Bahri and at Kharga Oasis.
He was lent by the Expedition to the Tutankhamun tomb excavation in 1922–1923.
He died in New York, 13 July 1959.
