256. R. Uraeus Buto Insignia (of Diadem 256, 4, O.) (See 256, S and 4.O.)
POSITION:
Thighs - along left thigh, tip of tail level with pubis, head of snake
above inner side of left knee. (Was placed as counter balanced to
dagger 256. K.).
DIMENSIONS:
H. of head & hood 6.5 cents. L. of body 28.5 cents.
DESCRIPTION:
The uraeus Buto insignia made up of gold plates; head of faience;
hood inlaid; body chased - (For details see note attached).
Has socket at back of head to fit on to corresponding projection on
diadem. (256 4.O.)
REMARKS:
Probably placed along thighs for preserv safety, as on the diadem
placed on the head it would have had risk of damage.
