256, iii bis ḏt-Serpent Amulet
POSITION:
Neck; centre; <attached by linen thread;> third group (i.e., iii, iii bis and jjj).
DIMENSIONS:
Max. H. 11.5. cents.
DESCRIPTION:
ḏt-serpent - amulet, of sh thin sheet gold embossed and chased.
Has an eyelet fastening centre of body (on back); was threaded upon
linen string between amulets iii and jjj, forming a (third) group of
amulets attached to the neck of the King within the wrappings (see diagram with
iii).
REMARKS:
cf. Lacau, Sarcophages, pl. XXXIV, 93, coffin No 28090 (34); represented yellow and
named [ 𓂀 ] "ḏt at his head".
