Griffith Institute Postcard 10, presented by Mr. and Mrs. Hobby in 2013.

The front of the postcard is labelled “Pharaohs Tutankhamen and His Queen”. It depicts an idealised scene in which Tutankhamun, standing on the left, faces his queen Ankhsenamun, who offers lotuses to her husband. Three lines of decorative faux hieroglyphs appear in the upper left corner.

The reverse indicates that the postcard was made in Egypt. Some examples from this series were produced during the U.A.R. years (1958–1971), so this one must have been printed either before or after that period. It was published by Lehnert & Landrock, the historic photographic studio and bookshop in Cairo founded by Rudolf Franz Lehnert and Ernst Heinrich Landrock. The postcard has a standard divided-back layout with spaces for both message and address.

Postcards in this series are sometimes individually numbered, but this example is unnumbered.
