<Stick> 48d Ivory knob, stained red.
Gesso gilt mostly dark plum colour with bloom
Treated as 48a

Plain wood: one end for some distance covered 

with thin gold sheet over gesso. Gold yellow

with patches of plum colour.
Washed with damp sponge.
Cleaned gold with ammonia and afterwards 

washed with water.

Bow 48f
Removed dust with bellows.
Waxed.

Dusted: sprayed with celluloid in amyl acetate
Heated in sun: treated with melted paraffin wax

Bow 48h.
Gold Wide bands of plain gold – yellow, tarnished – dull 

red patches: narrower band of worked gold – the same
Dusted: cleaned with damp brush
Sprayed with a solution of celluloid in amyl acetate
