left. St <It consists of two distinct layers. Top layer is> light brown, compact, brittle. 
Reddish on one surface as though later of different material/<Bottom layer is reddish 

and resinous-looking.>
HCl: Strong effervescence: dissolves leaving light red residue
SO>SUB>3: Trace
Heated: Charred
Red Residue after HCl: Very slightly soluble in water
Partly soluble in alcohol.
