Probably horse hair
Sprayed with strong c solution of Celluloid 

in Amyl Acetate.
Handles gesso gilt. Sprayed as above & refastened 

loose gesso & gilt with cellulose acetate cement.

 

Couches Nos 73. 137
Filled blisters with in gesso with melted paraffin 

wax by means of a pipette & poured melted 

wax over disinte surface where gesso was cracked 

or flaking off
