(c) Sticks
50(v) (a) On one stick there was a thin discoloured
metal band. This was very friable and was
chipping off. Treated with a solution of
Canada balsam in xylol <applied with a pipette>. This was a
mistake as the solution darkened the
wood immediately beyond the ends of
the band. A solution of celluloid in
amyl acetate would have been better.
50(oo) (b) Two sticks had metal each a narrow
metal band on top of metal. These a bands
were broken and loose. Stuck bands in
place by means of strong solution of celluloid
in amyl acetate applied with small brush.

50(qq) (c) Three sticks were covered in either in whole
50(vv) or in part with loose and very friable bark.
50(ww) Sprayed repeatedly with a solution of
celluloid in amyl acetate. Used same
solution to stick on loose pieces.
50(ss) Part of ivory whip with gold <ornamentation> beads. Also several <discoloured metal> (apparently silver) bands on the gold. One of these silver bands was
broken. Stuck it in place with solution of celluloid in amyl acetate.
