(A 6/92) J.H. Robbins says light-coloured particles crystalline & probably 

dextrose from honey or fruit. Reducing sugar, prob. dextrose. 

Black portion:- Ash 6.6% (50% sol. in water: K present) 

Indications of Tartrate, but no miosis[?].

Cement is CaCO3 & resin. 

 

 

38/23 Light: fatty feel. Ash 0.2 %: Sol. in ether 91.7 %: Sol in acetone 90.0% 

Iodine value 3.1. Approx equal amounts of stearic & palmitic acids with small 

amount of fatty acid of lower molecular weight. Ratio palmitic to stearic 

suggest beef tallow or ox fat. (Dr Thomas)
